COVINGTON — William L. Grubb, 71, died at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday at the Danville Care Nursing Home in Danville, Ill. He had been a patient for 10 days. A lifetime resident of Covington, Grubb was a farmer and a director of the Producers Dairy for 17 years and a vice president of the business for several years. He also was a school bus driver for a number of years. Mr. Grubb served as a member of the Troy Township Advisory Board. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington and Tidal Lodge No. 36, Knights of Pythias. He was born on Sept. 3, 1898, in Fountain County, to Mary B. Maiden and Granville P. Grubb. On Sept. 25, 1920, he married Ruby Newburn. Mr. Grubb is survived by his widow; a son, William H. Grubb of Rt. 3, Covington; four brothers, Theodore of Covington, James of Veedersburg and Granville Jr. and Charles of Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Rosie Hardy of Covington and Mrs. Retha Powell of Covington; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Rev. James Downey will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.  --waw
